Autism Services Program (ASP)
What do we do?
We provide early intervention for children with an ASD diagnosis to achieve the family’s goals and to play, grow, & thrive.
What ages of children do we work with?
Children ages 0-6 years old with an ASD diagnosis.
What can we help you with?
We help the child work on goals including;
- Managing behavior
- Using their body to the best of their abilities
- Problem solving
- Play skills.
How does the fee work?
This program is billed through your child’s autism funding (through the Ministry of Children & Family Development). We will get your approval to fund Shuswap Children’s Association for this program and take care of all the paperwork.
Who works with my child?
Our program supervisor will meet with you to discuss the program and get things started. From there, our behavior interventionists work directly with your child, with the supervision of a behavior consultant, an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist. They will work with your family on understanding strengths and needs and setting goals for your child’s individualized plan of intervention. We will hold meetings with your child’s team and family to review progress and changes to the service plan.
- We hope to broaden the age range once we are up and running.
- Hire a Speech and Language Pathologist.
